A Brief History

I was born in Invercargill, New Zealand, and completed my degree and PhD at the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand, under the supervision of Prof. Graham Wallis.  In 1995 I moved to the University of East Anglia in Norwich, UK, working as a Postdoctoral Research Associate with Prof. Godfrey Hewitt.  I subsequently obtained a lectureship there, and was later promoted to a Reader.  In 2011 I moved to Tenerife in the Canary Islands to take up a research post within the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), at the Instituto de Productos Naturales y Agrobiología (IPNA) in La Laguna.
